Former Royal Army Veterinary Trainer / Instructor in all categories of military working dogs for 13 years. Paul set up the first ever military working dog sections in Bosnia 1995 and he is one of only two persons, who has trained detection dogs to find and locate ivory and rhino horn. ( he was nominated in this capacity for the BBC animal awards in 2001). He was responsible for the training of the dogs at the Defence Animal Centre, Melton Mowbray under a special import license granted by the British & Kenyan Governments in order to import ivory to train the dogs. He then took these specially trained dogs, along with tracker dogs trained also by him, to Kenya and set-up the dog section at the Kenyan Wildlife Service and successfully deployed the dogs and local handlers that he had re-teamed and trained.
These dogs are currently still deployed in Kenya with a great success in the reduction of illegal poaching of what was a rapidly depleting wildlife species, until the introduction of these dogs!
Paul is also one of the few persons within the UK able to handle and instruct in Cadaver detection and victim recovery.
Has seen active service in various theatres including Northern Ireland, Croatia, Bosnia, Germany ( specific attachment to ILRRPS school for 18 months) and Kosovo.
He is now responsible for selection of handlers, dogs, re-teams and specialist projects that Top Dog Security Ltd wish to undertake.
