Matthew Ball, Trainer / Instructor

Matthew Ball is a professional established Canine Instructor with 25 years experience in training specialist dogs; originally from Lincolnshire he joined his family business from leaving school, a very reputable Hunt Point Retriever (HPR) Gundog Training centre on the Lincolnshire border, gaining champion awards in both field and show. He then completed a Diploma in dog psychology and used his skills in helping troubled dog owners across the UK develop and formulate training programs to overcome a variety of canine difficulties.

In 1998 Matthew joined the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, and has spent the last 13 years training and handling Military Working Dogs in very challenging and diverse roles.

In 2003 whilst on an operational track he was awarded the Queens Commendation for Bravery from the Police Service of Northern Ireland for the execution and assistance in a conviction with his Military Working Dog Tracking team.

He is a committed and well respected senior instructor in many classifications that include Arms Explosive Search, Vehicle (Navy Vehicle) Search, Tracking, Infantry Patrol, Protection, and is a Class 1 dog trainer who has been involved in many high profile tasks within the UK and overseas. He is also a qualified Visual Tracker and Ground Sign Awareness Instructor.

Matthew has recently spent 3 years overseas as Training Team Brunei Dog section Sergeant establishing the use of Infantry patrol and Tracking Dogs within a Jungle and harsh climatic environment, demonstrating canine assets to Special Forces, Infantry troops and VIP clients both British and International.

He is now very much looking forward to using his acquired skills within Top Dog Security Ltd for the development of the company and working with a like-minded team, continuing the outstanding quality of specialist and general role canines.
