Nigel Clark - Olympic Athletes Village Security Manager
Nigel Clark joined the Royal Air Force Police in late 1985 with the aim of becoming a dog handler.
His first role was as a GP handler, with tours incorporating the UK and multiple overseas roles.
From there he moved onto the Passive/Pro-Active Drug Detection Sectors and again became very well versed within this discipline.
Arms/Explosive search courses followed, and as a result when leaving the RAF, Nigel was contracted for such jobs as Concorde, QE2 and various other high profile arenas within the private sector.
In 2003 Nigel went to Iraq as a Private Contractor, specializing in Project and K9 Management and training, although in 2007 he took a welcome break and enjoyed his first stint at Top Dog as a trainer for a period of time before returning to Iraq via Saudi Arabia, where he set up the expansive and fully modernised K9 unit at the KAUST Complex, whilst conducting training in all K9 Roles for the local National Security Force.
After the project was complete in Saudi, he went to Afghanistan, working alongside the International Security Forces as an AES Handler/Trainer before again returning to Iraq, this time to Kurdistan as a Specialist Advisor on K9 Security within their transport/Aviation Sectors.
Another welcome role at Top Dog followed before his decision to move on again to gain more experience within Afghanistan as K9 EDD Operations Manager/Trainer, during the Elections of 2010.
Nigel has now returned to Top Dog and is very much ‘back at home’, working and assisting training within high profile venues and looking forward to staying and passing on all he has learnt within his career so far.
